As the Province begins to ease restrictions, we want you to know that we remain as committed and diligent as always to your safety and that of our Employees.  We are taking the situation with respect to the Coronavirus very seriously by adding additional measures to ensure that our cleaning and hygiene protocols are even more thorough.

We review our Policies and Procedures regularly and will update this page regularly with the latest information.

We recommend that you refer to the Sudbury Public Health Website at www.phsd.ca for the latest updates on closures, etc. We also recommend that you refer to Health Sciences North at www.hsnsudbury.ca for restrictions on family visit, screening requirements and other up to date policy changes. Safe Travels Stamp

Travelway Inn Sudbury has been awarded the SafeTravels Stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council and recognized by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario. The Safe Travels Stamp is an international symbol designed to allow travelers to recognize governments and companies around the world, which have adopted health and hygiene, standardized protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.

Across Canada, tourism businesses big and small are doing all they can to offer Canadians the perfect vacation. More and more Canadians are looking closer to home to escape from the challenges of and rediscovering their own provinces. When they see the ‘Safe Travels Stamp’ has been awarded to the destination or hotel they’re planning to visit they will know that they are upholding the highest standards of health and safety and demonstrating they are adhering to the global health protocols issued by the WTTC.”

General Updates

As per Public Health & Sudbury District mandates, masks are required to be worn in all public spaces as an added measure to prevent the spread of the virus. Homemade masks are acceptable. Should you not have a mask, we have Safety Kits available for sale in Pantry which consists of a Mask, Hand Sanitizer and Gloves. Face masks will be required to be worn as Guests move around the building.

In addition, as of September 22, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated, (two doses plus 14 days) and provide proof of vaccination, along with photo ID to access restaurants. Our breakfast rooms falls under this mandate and therefore we will be checking for proof of vaccination along with valid ID for all Guests accessing our breakfast room.

Individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry with a doctor’s note until recognized medical exemptions can be integrated as part of a digital vaccine certificate.

Children who are 11 years of age and younger are unable to be vaccinated will also be exempted from these requirements. All children 11 years and younger, must be accompanied by an adult.

Extensive cleaning and disinfection is being done daily with special attention given to high touch areas, in Guest rooms and in all common areas.

Hand Sanitizer has been provided throughout the Hotel at various high traffic areas. We ask Guests to use the hand sanitizer whenever they are entering the building.

At the Front Desk we will be limiting our staff’s contact with Guests. We ask Guests to pay by credit card, and to always recognize the social distancing rules. You will notice that we are sanitizing after every use, the pin pads, the pens, Key cards, and all high touch areas

Housekeeping staff are continually being trained and briefed on updated cleaning and hygiene protocols as well as taking all the necessary precautions to keep themselves and you safe. While you are staying with us, Daily Housekeeping service will be limited unless otherwise requested.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes plans change, that’s why we have always offered a flexible cancellation policy on individual property direct bookings. You may change or cancel your reservation, before 4pm on your scheduled arrival date without penalty.
